I’m a TK/K SDC teacher and had a transition meeting for an incoming student who just got an AAC device through insurance. Mom reports she’s pretty proficient at using it already (it sounds like it’s been a week with it). The first thing mom stated at the meeting was that she wanted a functional communication assessment done because she’s requesting a 1:1 specifically to model using the AAC all day at school. Is this a thing?
