gallery recognition vs online attention
i started my art "journey" about 6 months ago. I initially started as an escape from my highly stressful job and i have never attempted to make art before, within a short period of posting my work on Instagram i was contacted by a gallery wanting to do a solo show on my work. I had a great reception with a lot of pieces selling. I was shocked and privileged to be celebrated. now months later i still post on my instagram but i notice a massive decline in engagement. i cant eve seem to break six likes when i used to average much more. I admit i haven't spent the time networking with other artist in the area. partly due to my own reclusiveness and partly because i don't feel welcomed by others in the space due to my quick success. Is there a secret to online networking? sure, i follow other galleries and artists i like, but i suppose i shouldn't expect the same treatment. Lastly im not attempting to claim my work is holier than thou, but i put a lot of blood sweat tears and emotion in my work, however i notice lately so much unconscious and derivative work or AI work is getting so much more attention and praise online. is this exclusive to me or am i being a curmudgeon.
[i included one of my 300+pieces of work if curious]
thanks
