Hi everyone,

I used to be a dog walker and my first impulse isn’t to snitch, but I witnessed some really dangerous behaviour by someone today and if my dog was under her care, I’d want to know.

(It wasn’t violent behaviour, but careless. Dropping a puppy’s leash briefly on a busy road while loading in; leaving two of four dogs inside the park while doing said load-in, and not securing the gate so it blew open while her focus was elsewhere, etc.)

I realize I might have been looking at someone’s worst day and I never want to get anyone fired, BUT so many things could have gone so wrong so quickly.

The vehicle she was using didn’t have a company name on it, but I jotted down the license plate and vehicle make and colour.

As a former dog walker, I was like, “omg, why aren’t they all tied?” I personally would have rounded them all up, attached two to my waist to put back in the vehicle, hooked two to fence, secured the gate, and loaded in, only unattaching them once I was sure they were in, safely.

My question:

I think she’s probably an independent contractor. (As in, unaffiliated with a company).

  1. am I being over sensitive?

  2. should I pursue this further? I suppose I could go to city and see if she’s registered.

  3. what are my options?
