I have a 2021 Mondraker Crafty RR. Great bike that I love to ride!
At the beginning of the 2023 season, the motor blew, and I lost the whole summer on that bike waiting for a warranty repair. I got it back in September that year, and it has worked great since then.
This spring, I had a major service on it, replacing the whole drivetrain for almost 1,000 euros. I got the bike back and the motor cut out a few times before throwing a 513 error code. I pressed OK and it went away. It didn't bother me again on that ride, so I guessed it was a hiccup.
I took the bike out the other day and the motor lagged, and I got another 513. I was in the middle of the forest, so I got a bit nervous and turned around to go home.
BAM!
The motor blew when I tried to bunny hop over some mud. My front tire dug in as I lost pedal resistance, the bike flipped, and I somersaulted over the handlebars, landing on my shoulder and hurting myself pretty badly.
The crank just spins with a "bumpy" feel to it, but I can't move forward. I now have the world’s most expensive kick-bike, and I'm in the forest 10 km from home. It was a long-ass walk, but thankfully there were some downhill segments...
Is three years of middle-aged-man-riding the life expectancy for the Gen4 Bosch CX, or am I just very unlucky?
