Why is Arcane Omens so good?

By turn 5, an opponent should average around 3 cards in hand, and that is the best case scenario if you play [[Arcane Omens]] on curve with at least three differently coloured mana sources, but it's a dead card starting around turn 6. Compared to [[Mind Roots]], [[Send in the Pests]] and [[Render Speechless]], it seems to be a much riskier card, but is still considered to be much stronger. Can you share your insights/experience with Arcane Omens?

I drafted four [[Render Speechless]] and included all of them in my Silverquill draft deck. So far, I've only drawn it once in three games (tenderly choosing a mythic bomb from my opponent's hand), but I wonder if four isn't kind of overkill when I draw them once the opponent is topdecking. For what it's worth, I've also drafted two [[Send in the Pests]], but I've not included them in my main deck at the moment. What would Spock do?
