Hi everyone,

I need some genuine advice from seniors who have been through this phase.

I scored around 87 percentile (~2 lakh rank) in JEE Main. I had taken 2 years of dummy schooling to prepare seriously, but due to lack of discipline and not understanding the importance at the right time, I couldn’t perform as expected.

Now I’m confused between two options:

1. Join a private university (like Bennett or similar) and move on
2. Take a drop and prepare again properly

I’m honestly a bit scared about taking a drop because:

  • I’m not sure if I’ll stay consistent the whole year
  • I don’t want to repeat the same mistakes

At the same time, I also feel I didn’t give my full potential this time.

So I want honest opinions:

  • Is taking a drop worth it at my level?
  • Or should I move on with a private college and focus on skills there?
  • If anyone was in a similar situation, what did you do and how did it turn out?

I’d really appreciate practical advice rather than just motivation.

Thanks in advance.
