So I left my lizard with my dad for a couple months, I felt like I was unable to properly care for something because of certain mental issues going on, anyway I told him everything he needed to do I told him to check the humidity make sure she’s eating, clean her poops, clean her, everything.
Well it seems none of that was done because I came back to retrieve her after I felt I was able to care for something again to see shit literally everywhere in the cage, shriveling lettuce, dead crickets in the water the whole nine yards. The entire cage was also dry as the actual Sahara desert. I think that’s the only reason she hasn’t gotten a terrible infection or anything because it was so damn dry all of the bacteria would’ve instantaneously been evaporated.
She herself is in a better shape then she should be but she seems to have lost a nail while I was gone and there are some spots I have some concerns about. She’s also a bit underweight and dehydrated but that will be fixed from just me feeding her better than she was being fed there.
There isn’t any yellowing or a bad smell to her apart from dirt so I’m hoping some of these things are just dirt but others are definitely not. I did give her a little bath but the dirt on her hands had a hard time coming off. I just want to make sure it’s not scale rot and maybe it was just caused by improper shed and humidity. She is now back with me and in a properly maintained and healthy enclosure and will NEVER be left there again. She’s 11 so she’s pretty darn old and she’s always been a trooper so her state being as mildly ok as it is doesn’t surprise me too much. I feel so terrible for leaving her with him and it just makes me sick and anxious to see her like this. Please tell me anything that you see wrong!
Edit: It was also a bit cold in my room when these photos were taken so some of the darkness could be from that as well
