ECE 312 or 316 over the summer?
Hi y’all! I’m a UT ECE student trying to plan out my summer/fall schedule and wanted some advice from people who’ve taken these courses already.
Right now I’m debating between taking ECE 312 online over the summer with Santacruz or taking ECE 316 with Touba instead and saving 312 for the fall.
I’ll also be doing research for credit and taking GOV at a CC over the summer.
My current fall schedule without summer classes would be:
- ECE 312
- ECE 313
- Engineering Communication
- VAPA
- ECE 316
I just finished 319K, so I’m already pretty comfortable coding in C, but I’ve seen really mixed reviews about 312 with Santacruz and worried about the difficulty of the course being condensed in the summer and no in person teaching/help. I haven't seen anything about 316 when it was taught online.
(I also want to make sure I don't hurt my GPA by getting a bad grade in the summer and also want to make sure my fall schedule isn’t too heavy for the recruiting season as well)
For people who’ve taken these classes/professors:
- How is the workload for 312 online over the summer?
- Is getting an A manageable if you stay on top of everything?
- How was Santacruz specifically over the summer?
- And for anyone who took 316 with Touba over the summer, how manageable was the workload compared to 312?
Overall, I’d appreciate any recommendations. I would prefer to take 312 over the summer if it’s not too bad and a A- is manageable.
Thanks!
