A Better OR Cheaper DT 900 Pro X for Competitive FPS?

For highly competitive Counter-Strike 2. Also everyday use but that is secondary.

This might be a weird ask since the obvious answer is DT 900 Pro X, but I am hoping that someone might know what makes these great for hearing footsteps.

My DT 900 Pro X broke and it doesn't seem like the cost will make it reasonable to repair. I am guessing that I loved the lack of strong bass in it, as I am now trying my partner's old 880 Pro and I cannot get it to sound "clear" even with a lot of messing with the equalization. I was hoping to avoid the cost of buying new headsets but it seems it will be unavoidable as I play CS2 on a high level and I cannot justify getting used to worse directional clarity.

Problem: I like shiny things. I don't like spending on a good amount of money for the exact same product.

So, I am hoping to settle on different headphones. Either ones that sound similarly good in terms of positional accuracy for cheaper, or ones that provide comparable accuracy while also being better headphones overall for music consumption.

Location is UK.

I have a strong enough amp to power 250 ohms so that shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks!

Suggestion for future elo resets

I was feeling pretty doomeristic about future seasons due to people saying that elo resets only affect the very top of the playerbase. However, after realizing that more than 10% of all active players are actually Level 10, I gained some hope.

Here is the suggestion: Instead of working by reducing the elo through a formula, have it work based on certain thresholds.

An example could be this: ALL Level 10s lose 250 elo, levels below that lose less elo based on their level, and the top 1000 of each region is equalized to the elo of the top 1000th (or maybe 2000th) player.

You still get the benefit of having a more dynamic leaderboard, and it doesn’t have the current side effect where a 4k elo player is suddenly nearly the same elo as a 3.8k player.

I hope this gets considered, because this season is STILL incredibly unfun to play.

A few weeks ago, we were playing ESEA against a team we should have an easy win against. However, everyone was worried at the start because we started 0-5 on the CT side. Then I realised… at that point, we’ve had a SINGLE buy round but we had already lost more rounds than what we can be comfortable with in that half.

Pistol > Force > Eco > Buy > Eco. One buy round, five rounds.

We won the match anyway because the elo difference was crazy, but it got me thinking. Isn’t that a bit ridiculous that you lose nearly half of the rounds available per half if you happen to lose a single buy round?

I feel like Valve should experiment with more buffs, like either a different loss bonus depending on which side you’re on, or having it so that the loss bonus doesn’t reset after the 2nd round. If you happen to win the first buy round the economy feels normal, but if you don’t, the scoreline does not reflect the number of opportunities you’ve had AT ALL.

What do you guys think?

Apple Support is using the decade-old technique of “spam shortcuts until they give up”.

After the latest update, because I live in the UK, my iPhone asks me to prove that I am an adult. Except, I don’t have a credit card that I can use to prove my identity (only had the right to work for less than a month so dont have an income), and they don’t accept my provisional driver’s license due to the name on it being different to the name on my account.

Can I change my account name to my deadname, verify my identity, and then change my name back after verification? Apple Support refused to answer this question so I am hoping someone here might know. I would rather have Apple think I am a child than to be stuck with my old name on my account.

If not, is there any other way I can prove myself being an adult?
