How do I get a cat to stop being so affectionate?

So, for context, my roommate has an extremely clingy cat that CONSTANTLY follows me around for pets and rubs itself on my legs weaving in and out. At first I thought it was adorable but it started to get annoying when it got to the point where it happened every stride and I would accidentally kick the cat (gently, I walk around carefully because I know the cat might come between my legs) and the cat would start biting and attacking my feet even after the slightest bunt afterwards.

To add on, the cat, since she follows me around everywhere, follows me into my room in which I do not want her entering as I have expensive technology that I do not want to get messed up. I’ve tried ignoring her entirely so she wouldn’t be as affectionate or closing the doors as quickly as I can (which didn’t work, these felines are fast), but she still CONSTANTLY follows me around everywhere.

So, how do I get her to stop being so affectionate so I don’t have to feel anxious within my own living space?
