My birthday child came home on their birthday and told me their preschool teacher hadn’t let them have the treats brought to celebrate because the class wasn’t behaving.
I asked if it was them who wasn’t behaving, and they said, it was the whole class but also them. That none of them were listening.
My child seemed to take it in stride despite how excited they’d been to bring treats for the class, so that’s good at least. The greatest disappointment though was that my child had really been looking forward to some special way they all sing to each other on their birthdays. Something they’ve been talking about for weeks and they didn’t do that either.
It seems really cruel to refuse to celebrate a preschoolers birthday regardless of behavior. Should I say something?
