Posted here for the first time about a month ago about having a migraine every two days for like a week. Finally able to see a GP that Friday and she changed my meds and have only had one in the past month! Yippeeee! I explained the new symptoms (lots of slightly scary nerve stuff, stroke-like symptoms, etc) for like ten mins, she's nodding along and then does the very classic GP thing of looking up "migraine" online and reading a webpage for like 5 mins. Turns back to me and is all "so...... it does seem like..... this is migraine....... and what you're describing does align with...... What Is Known As......aura....." and I go "Uh-huh." because I would like her to help me LOL.
Going from taking beta blockers x3 daily to just a single amitriptyline at night has been great for a very forgetful person. Only downsides are 1) the driest mouth everrrr the next day but I'm drinking more water so maybe that's a plus and 2) If im going out at night i keep having to take them with me to take kind of when I think i'll be heading home and then spending way longer out sloooowly falling asleep. Also think I'm definitely getting some of that weird dream side effect. I used to have loads of weird narrative dreams when I was younger that went away and now I've had four in the past week and a half-ish.
Got given some abortives too (literally six in the biggest box they could find) which I've only tried once (see: the one migraine mentioned earlier) but I had to wait to take it so I could throw up a bit first to not waste it and by the time I was done it was kind of too late for it, whoops. Juries out on if they'll work. I've been getting a lot of tingles/fuzzies in feet and hands lately so who knows, maybe I'll update in like two days going DID NOT WORK, HEAD EXPLODED.
Oh! And I got those new glasses! Prescription in both lenses now and going okay. Disregard me saying I don't really need to wear them in my last post, do not know what I was talking about. AND I got a nicer second pair since there was a deal and I feel like you should have a fancier pair, right? My going out glasses. They're dark red cat-eye ones. Very chic, trust.
Anyone else on Amitriptyline? Am I just in a honeymoon phase? Please tell me I won't grow a second head. Or do. Maybe it won't have migraines.
