Mercedes...

I usually can fix most things but this I'm lost and don't know where to start

Did a routine oil change on my 2010 c300 and my dumbass self forget to put the second o-ring on my oil filter so I started her up and she just shot oil down over the front of the engine. wiped up all the oil I could get to. I mean probably a quart just down all over the front of the engine. Put the ring on dried so more oil up. Took it to a buddy's house about 5 miles all good went to start her to drive home got about 2 miles and started to downshift hard to get to a stop. Then I notice on the dash it didn't indicate what i was in park,reverse, etc. and didn't even show the little "c" or "s" for sport or comfort. So I went a little farther shifted hard up and down. Parked it shut her off. Wouldn't start at all and didn't register it in park. So I pulled the boot off the shifter pushed in the tap shifted from park to drive and back she fired right up drove back to my buddy house got about half way and the exact same symptoms again.
Parked it tried to do the same tab to shift through the gears did it but this time no start. So I had my buddy hook up the scanner it gave me

I cleared them then had it run a full diagnostic test
This code popped up the second time

We hooked the jumpers up to the battery she fired right up
So we figured just the alternator so we went to bed got up this morning went went to jump it and nothing won't start and won't registar what gear it's in. Have any suggestions on maybe a sensor that got fried in the front or maybe a bad alternator I know it got oil into and that'll cause weird shit.

Disclaimer: no signs of this ever before with the tranny only a dumbass who can't remember to put a o-ring on his oil filter which caused oil to go all over the front of the engine.
