H1B selected, current project ending, in late stages with a company; how do I pitch the contractor to transfer setup?

Hey everyone, I really need some advice here.

I got selected in the H1B lottery this year and my current project through my staffing agency is coming to an end. I’m actively interviewing and in the last stages with one company in particular.

The situation is that I have to stay with my staffing agency as a contractor until October 1st, when my H1B activates. After that, the company could transfer me over as a direct employee. The whole transfer process is pretty simple, and the agency takes care of everything.

The problem is I’ve been close to landing something twice now, and this contractor setup has been the factor that got in the way both times. I really don’t know the best way to pitch this to an employer without making it a bigger issue than it needs to be.

For those who have successfully navigated this, how did you explain it? When did you bring it up? What's the easiest way to present it so it doesn’t scare the employer off?

I really appreciate any help; it’s been a long road and I’m just trying to get this right.
