Here it is. The grail amongst vintage 149's. This particular 149 dates to the late 1950's on account of the round ebonite grooved face and shank, as well as striated green celluloid under the starred finial.

The Silver Rings MB 149 has 3 unique qualities:

1. Celluloid construction. This pen is heftier than later acrylic models, and the thickness of the material transfers warmth from the writer's hand to the body of the pen.

2. Flexy nib. Unlike modern Montblanc pens with firm nibs, the celluloid 149's 14c tri-color nibs have bounce and flex. This particular 149 flexes easily from F to BB. Add flourish and character to your writing!

3. Telescoping piston mechanism. The collapsing piston retracts compactly onto itself, allowing more room to fill the pen with ink.

Condition (B), I am the second owner and the pen has been rarely used. No defects. Comes with the original Montblanc clamshell box.

1. Waterman 452 lever filler with solid sterling silver overlay in checkered pattern. 14k semi-flex nib. Fully cleaned, new sac installed and nib tuned and polished. Condition C, overlay slightly misaligned with lever so small warp in overlay seen in pic. Reduced $180 USD.
2. Moore's Non-Leakable Safety Pen with 14k semi-flex nib. Fully restored with new o-rings and nib tuned. Wear to ebonite and imprinting. Condition C. $100 USD.
3. Diamond Point Fountain Pen and Pencil Set. Lever filler pen has firm 14K EF nib, pencil has lead. Comes in original box and warranty/instructions (warranty expired). Condition B. New rubber sac installed and nib tuned. $60 USD.
4. Waterman #2 14k semi/noodle-flex nib eyedropper with snail pattern overlay (presumably rolled gold but hallmark has been lost to time). Nib tuned. Condition C for superficial filing where name was originally engraved, otherwise in excellent condition. $120 USD.
5. Parker pocket pen with rolled gold overlay and 14k semi-flex lucky curve nib. Condition C with superficial wear at bottom of cap. Button fill, new rubber sac installed and nib tuned. Length 3 1/4" capped -> 4" posted. $80 USD.
