I remember watching a movie about a bunch of people who hunt for veerappans treasure in the forest, with police and local villagers involved.

Then they figure out and find the treasure and come back to civilization only for the demonitization to happen and the money being worthless.

This is like a rough outline of the story, and my mind is a bit blurry on the details.
