I was given this letter by my new property manager of yesterday. The moment I was given this, it was not long after I requested to be given my leasing information to renew my lease.
The thing is, I have never been told, outside of one instance, that I have not have a clean apartment. In that one instance it was well over a year ago when I first moved in and had been remedied. When I asked her if she had any paperwork on this, she only said she was given information from her higher ups and she could only go off of what she had said.
My apartment is clean and the situation that caused the original write up was a puppy pad that was new that morning but had been used by the time 5p came around by ferrets. That made my apartment apparently dirty according to the Maintenance man.
Since she has no actual paperwork on this let alone this is purely from hearsay, is this even legal?
Edit: I did contact my prior property manager, she did verify that there no prior issues with my apartment and she had nothing noted from other tenants. So there is a chance that the one who mentioned the lady not liking my ferrets is correct. The woman has an issue with animals in general from what all of us who have apparently received this notice has found out. Almost everyone who has a pet or was close to the prior property manager has some form of this letter for various reasons.
