I'm so torn. I'm 25 years old, currently make 80k as a Data Analyst for a government office. Easy 9-5, fully remote, some busy weeks and some slow weeks. Everyone is super chill.

I tested the job market and ended up receiving an offer for a Senior Tech Consultant. Role seems similar to my current role, just turned up to 100. Pay will be 130k.

Stability is my number 1 priority no matter what. I know I can grind at all costs, but the fear of layoffs and getting burnt out/forced out makes me worry. 130k is life changing money, I probably won't touch that until 10 years in my current role. At the same time, I'm basically guaranteed a job (and health insurance) for the next 10 years, I can't say the same about big4. My friends who left FAANG and IB are struggling to find work.

Anyone who made the jump from stable career to Big4 mind speakimg on this? Do you regret going? Regret not going? I would love to hear all perspectives.

Edit: Really appreciate the feedback. I want to hear stories and perspective, not just "go for it - the pay is better". Some insight would be nice!
