So I am 19 and in the Army. My initial plan was just:
Allot 15% of my paychecks to TSP
Save $500 a paycheck into my HYSA until I reach $7,000 (backup fund)
Start putting extra money and (once my HYSA reaches that number) allot $500 towards my personal Roth IRA
Then, once I max out my Roth in the first 7 months of the year, increase my allotment towards my TSP for the last 5 months to 25% and put extra money into my HYSA
My plan for TSP was to do 50% towards C Fund, 20% I Fund and 30% S Fund (I plan to be in for 20 years)
I just recently spent most of my savings on a car, so I will lower my TSP allotment to 5% until I recuperate in about 5 months
I wasn't sure if it's better to do an L fund or to do my own split, and if I am doing anything wrong with my plan
