Top 2 pics taken not long before I got Covid in Dec 2023. Bottom left pic taken just as I was starting to recover from Covid which took quite a while with long COVID issues indicating a heart issue and lots of fluid retention. With doctors help lost 18 lbs of fluid around my lungs and heart in a few weeks. Then started to lose weight in Feb 2024 at 5’6”, 290 lbs, and 74 years old. I lost 16 lbs in 2 months on my own and then qualified for Ozempic. After topping out on Ozempic at 6 months and total loss of 55 lbs, I plateaued for 6 months and doc agreed to move me to Mounjaro. I had insulin resistance my entire life, always fighting weight issues. After moving up on dosages of Mounjaro I continued to lose weight and now have lost 94 lbs (last picture) at 76 years old. The lesson is that we are never too old to fix our health. My focus continues on further weight loss and gaining strength and hope to move to maintenance in another year.
