Neck pain and going back to work 9 weeks post op
I’m about 9-10 weeks post op (bony decompression and duraplasty) and my neck pain is back with a vengeance is this normal? I thought at 9 weeks i would be doing better and be able to get back to work. My valsalva headaches have greatly improved and though i was having issues with nausea that is getting better too. But now i’m getting bad neck pain again and a one sided headache from the case of my skull to the front of my head accompanying it 2 days in a row and been getting worse the past week or so. I’ve had this before surgery but was overshadowed by the valsalva headaches. I’m on the NHS in the UK and not due a follow up till June. My GP is meant to handle me and contact the surgery team for concerns. I had a brief follow up to check my ability to drive (they said i was fine) and i mentioned my neck pain was bad but it wasn’t as bad then. But they reckoned everything was fine.
Is this normal recovery or should i be concerned? Am i possibly overdoing it a bit? I’m meant to be back at work next week (already delayed) and I’m frustrated at being sore again… what was everyone else’s experiences post op and when did you get back to work?
