NP said they have never had a nipple graft fail, what do we think?

These are the pics taken at my 1-week post op appointment. I think they look pretty good and that comment definitely eased my anxiety a bit! Still gonna be careful tho cuz I don’t wanna be the first.

Bandaids are from them draining fluid at the post op appointment. Hated the placement right over my incisions though because one of them ripped off some of the surgical glue 😬

Also anyone else BARELY see their surgeon? I saw him at my consult and right before my surgery and that’s it. I’m 9 days post op. As of now I’ve mostly been working with the nurse practitioner at the office. Not that I’m complaining though because she’s a lot better with people than the surgeon. Just not what I expected.

Sore throat after contrast and surgery

I, 21nb(AFAB) had ftm top surgery with nipple grafts on Tuesday. Post surgical pain meds I’m taking is Gabapentin 3 times a day and the rest as needed for pain and gastrointestinal issues- ibuprofen, methocarbamol, oxycodone, zofran, and colace and miralax. I had to do an enema yesterday because I hadn’t made a bowel movement since the day before my surgery. Supplements I take are a women’s multi vitamin, zinc, D3, and magnesium glycinate. I wasn’t able to take any supplements 2 weeks before surgery, but I started again right after. Daily meds I usually take are Pristiq and Allegra. I do use medical marijuana for mental health and chronic pain, but I stopped smoking two weeks before surgery, switching to edibles only. Then I stopped the edibles 1 week before surgery and haven’t had any cannabis products since my surgery. I’ve also been using a spirometer and doing physical therapy exercises. I’ve been following all other post op instructions. I have also been wearing a compression garment 24/7 since my surgery.

Recovery was going pretty well and then the night of day 2 I started getting shortness of breath which got worse the next day. It was getting harder and harder to use the spirometer and I felt like I couldn’t get a full breath in. I informed my surgical team and they said any shortness of breath is cause for concern and to go to the ER. Went to the ER yesterday and they did blood tests, urine tests, an EKG, and a CT with contrast. Thankfully they said everything looked normal and it was most likely regular post op breathing difficulties, and they recommended I use the spirometer more frequently.

I noticed a little after the contrast, my throat started hurting. I took a cough drop that night which soothed it a bit, but it got worse this morning. I checked my throat and it’s yellow in the back which I’ve never seen before. It hurts to swallow and talk at a regular volume. I get occasional sore throats from allergies and sometimes have a cobblestone throat, but this is not that. The picture isn’t too good quality and doesn’t really show the extent of it. It’s like pretty yellow behind my tonsils.

Could this be some type of infection or allergic reaction to the contrast? Or is it maybe just me getting sick because of a weakened immune system? I messaged my care team and they have yet to respond, but I wanted a second opinion.
