I want to get blood test done and urine test done. The thing is I haven't had any of these tests done in a very long time.

I read that some locations to do this are Chopo and Salud Digna and Laclicsa? Which is the best of these? I read Salud Digna costs the least but is it as reliable as the other ones?

Do doctors here at their local offices do blood and urine tests here in playa del carmen or where you are located in Mexico? Or do you go and see them and they tell you what tests you are going to get and then send you to a location to get the tests done and then once you get it done and the results later that day or day or few days later, you go and meet them again to discuss the results?

I went to playadoctor several times a while back years ago. One doctor I remember going to was Bernando Diaz and he was very good and friendly. Does anyone know if they do these tests in their office and if so, do they usually ask you to come back next time to do the tests or they usually have these tests ready for you to take when you show up if you ask them about it before you go and meet them your first time?

I read an older post that someone mentioned Dr. Francisco Aguilar from MD Playa does these tests and they receive the results the same day so you could come back later that day to discuss the results. Has anyone done this with him or similar doctors?

Does anyone know how much the blood test and urine test cost in Mexico? I got to assume if it's done at their office, it costs more than compared to them sending you to a location to get the tests done there? The thing is doing it at their office would be more convenient right? Do you notice any difference between getting these tests done here compared to say back in the US or Canada?

Is it better to get tests done back in the US instead or is it better getting these tests done in Mexico? I like to know how much you paid for it in the US compared to Mexico assuming you have no health insurance and pay cash.

I'm in Playa Del Carmen. I'm from the US. I need to get multiple MRI's for several areas of my body such as knee and arm.

From reading online, many of the main hospitals like Costamed and a few other ones do MRI"s. It seems the cost of it is around $400 USD or so. However, if I check Chopo Labs which seems to be in Cancun and Playa Del Carmen, they seem to cost $400 as well but they give a discount if you book it online so it comes to around $280 USD or so. There is a Salud Digna that does MRI's in Cancun and from what I read online and the cost is $160 USD only? Is there a reason why the costs is this much lower? Is the quality of the machine the standard 1.5 Tesla or is it not as good? I did read Salud Digna is very packed and is sort of like a hospital?

Has anyone here done any MRI's in Mexico and if so, how is it compared to back in the US? The thing is do doctors in the US accept MRI images and reports from Mexico and they look at it or do they generally disregard it and make you take new MRI's in the US? I am saying assuming the MRI images are recent and not gold.

Do you recommend getting MRI's in Mexico as oppose to the US? I did read about how people travel to other countries like Mexico to get MRI's done because it costs less but it's still going to be $280 or so at least in Mexico right if it's not Salud Digna? If you don't have health insurance in the US, even though an orthopedic doctor will cost a lot more than in Mexico, those self paying MRI places in the US seem to still cost $300-450 so it isn't that much more than in Mexico?

The other thing is if you need any procedure or surgery done, the costs will be much less in Mexico. But do a lot of people do procedures or surgeries here as opposed to the US?

Does anyone have a recommendation for an orthopedic doctor that can look at arm and leg and knee for injury and similar issues in playa del carmen?

On google, it shows quite a few but I like to have opinions and experience from those who went to them here. Does anyone have experience with Dr. José Alberto López Tello or Jorge Barcenas? These seem to be located away from the centro so you have to take a cab to get there? I read somewhere that there is a good orthopedic doctor at Hospiten and at MD Playa? Anyone know the names of those specific orthopedic doctors? What about at Costamed or other places? What about in centro?

I'm from the US and will be paying cash. I don't have health insurance if that matters. It seems to cost 1000 to 1500 pesos for a consultation from checking online.

Almost all orthopedic doctors, unless they are located in a hospital will write you a referral to get an xray or MRI if they think you need one since they don't have those machines at their clinics right?

The other thing is if they are located in a hospital and have you do x-ray and MRI, is it always best to do it at the hospital they are located even though it will most likely cost more compared to you getting an x-ray or MRI at say a Chopo or Salud Digna? I believe Chopo is considered good and has modern machines but Salud Digna might not? There seems to be a new Chopo in playa del carmen? Doing any x-ray or MRI at the same location as the doctor in a hospital would seem more convenient but they cost a lot more right? I would like experiences from those who saw an orthopedic doctor and where did they go to get x-ray or MRI. And was your x-ray or MRI experiences here similar to back in the US? Does anyone know if orthopedic doctors in the US accept MRI's taken in Mexico or they typically make you take new ones? Like if you do MRI's while in Mexico and bring it to the doctor here to look and at analyze, then when you go back to the US, will US doctors accept those MRI's?
