Messed up CGPA to % conversion for SSC (Tech)-67 - Will I be Document Out?

Hi everyone,

I’ve been shortlisted for the SSC (Tech)-67 (Oct 2026). I’m seeking advice from anyone who has faced a similar situation or has seen how the Selection Centres handle data mismatches during document verification.

The Issue:

While filling out my online application, I inadvertently used the wrong CGPA-to-percentage formula. I used (CGPA - 0.75) X 10 (standard CBSE style) instead of the official formula prescribed by my University.

The Data Mismatch:

According to the official University circular, the correct formula is simply CGPA × 10.

  • My CGPA: 8.88/10
  • Reported Percentage in Application (Incorrect): 81.3%
  • Actual Percentage as per Marksheet (Correct): 88.8%
  • Stream Cut-off: 60%

My Current Plan:

Both the incorrect and correct percentages are well above the 60% cut-off, so there was no "inflation" of marks to meet the criteria. To address the mismatch, I am planning to carry:

  1. Appendix G/H (CGPA Conversion Certificate) duly countersigned and stamped by the University Registrar.
  2. A self-attested copy of the official University circular regarding the conversion formula.

My Questions:

  1. How strict are the Selection Centres with numerical errors if the actual marks are actually higher than what was reported in the application?
  2. Is there any other document I should carry to avoid being "Document Out" at the gate?

I’m really looking for insights from anyone who has gone through this or knows how the board views these types of calculation errors.

Thanks in advance for the help!
