I've been working on a starter for two weeks now. I was using strong white bread flour and feeding an initial ratio of 1:1:1. After day 10, I noticed it smelt of solvent so switched floor to wholemeal flour and gave it a bigger feed. I've been doing this for a couple days and haven't seen any rise so far but the smell keeps coming back after 12 hours. Any advice 🤷

The bigger feeds were 1:3:3 and 1:4:4
