Has anyone successfully gone carry-on only while traveling with a pup?

I was full-time solo traveling for years and had my packing super dialed in — but then I took a break, which involved getting a tiny dog lol.

I’d love to get back to adventuring with her, but giving up that personal item has been a CHALLENGE. She’s only 8lbs, so I’m really thinking there has to be a bag out there she can be cozy in that I can also use some real estate of 🤣

Other than that, any weight/space saving hacks that have popped up while I’ve been “retired” would be appreciated!
