1000 years ago, earth faced a death. Humans turned into these cannibalistic monsters, who only want to eat other humans, over time, they mutated, becoming worse as the years pass. As if they were demons, like those spoken of in the bible.
As time went on, the years weren't kind to our ancestors. Food became scarce, people turned feral. Others turned their groups into clans and some turned into cults, outsiders aren't welcome. If they are, they're treated with suspicion and contempt. Those outside of the groups, they turned to scavenger hunters, living off the earth and using what they can to survive.
Only 600 years after the world faced its death, it faced even further catastrophe. The planet was starved by an endless summer, people perished and many died from the overwhelming heat. Those who survived did anything they can to survive the new world. Billions turned to millions, then millions turned to only thousands of people. Any trace of the old world burned, no traces of it were left except for those who went underground or to the sky.
Those who survived the heat, they became living demons from hell, forever howling and screaming in pain, burying themselves underground during the day. At night they come out, these twisted monsters that have overtaken our planet. They’re tall, their arms and legs abnormally long with veins protruding from their body. Their faces long and hollow, skeleton-like features exposed from their grey skin, no eyes, no nose. But the scream for help, luring you to their location, if you fall for the tricks of these demons, you become one of the creatures from the old world, slowly morphing into a demon from beneath the surface.

Over time, the monsters died, people learned and adapted quickly, recognising the calls of the demons and warning others of where they hide. They very slowly died, starved of any source of food once humans learned to destroy them where and while they sleep.
But then the world faced another threat, a storm of green fire ravens the earth, piece by piece, the green fire swallowed the planet. Those in the sky were the only ones to survive, or so they thought. With how well the humans on the ground adapted and survived before, they survived this. But this time, it only left hundreds.
We survive today because of our ancestors, they fought long and hard for the survival of our people. Creating serums and protective clothing for the green fire. It melted everything. Trees, animals, birds fell from the sky, unprotected humans grew masses and lumps, the demons became worse, much, much worse. Different types, many don’t have names, we’d given up and just call them all Demons now. Some still call to us from beyond the darkness. But we know better.
The sky is always dark, the wind blows heat, the rain turned to acid and slowly burns away at everything. The sun is rarely shining, the earth dark, grey and miserable. Trees are just sticks in the ground, everything now ash.
Humans are dying slowly, starving, thirsty. Birds no longer fly, animals no longer wonder. Ash. The earth is ash and hot, days became so hot, the oceans dried, leaving large holes in the ground, sea life suffocated and dried up, leaving only their carcasses alive.
Then they came.
~~//~~
No one knows where they came from. The sky or from the holes that the ocean left in the ground. Ginormous monsters that have no names began walking the earth. They crushed the remains of cities to dust, they began eating the humans that somehow survived, swallowing what was left of us. There’s only a handful of us left now, as far as we know. We hide caves and borrows left the old world. We hide in the dark, live in the shadows, eating whatever we can find, even those who had died. It’s an unbearable world. But we somehow survived.
Those in the sky look down on earth now, watching the green fire burning most of the skies. The clouds of ash, strange ripples in the sky, moving through them. They ask what is that? But they don’t know or see the creatures now that live beside us, live with us. Humans no longer dominate the earth, we’re a source of food for the creatures now. We are the ones that are hunted now. We take shelter where we can, sleep and rest where we can. Our planet, is no longer ours.
This death, was not the worst to come. Earthquakes began to happen, devastating what’s left of the earth. The ground started to open, portals to another world. Orange fire mixed with the green fire. Creating a toxic atmosphere. What was left us on the ground, it’s no longer there. Even the creatures couldn’t survive it.
What was left of us remained with the stars. Watching the earth decay everyday, swallowed by the darkness.
