I need to purchase a laptop for my engineering degree soon, and was considering 2 thinkpad p1 options. Any insight is appreciated!

Option 1: Refurbished Thinkpad P1 Gen 5 ($1170)

Nvidia RTX a1000

12th Gen Intel Core i7

32GB RAM

1TB SSD

Option 2: Refurbished Thinkpad P1 Gen 7 ($1599)

Nvidia RTX 2000 8gb VRAM

Intel Core Ultra 7

32GB DDR5 RAM

1TB SSD

The first one is from eBay, and the second is from Lenovo, both come with 1 year of warranty.

Right now, I’m leaning towards option 2 so I won’t have to upgrade as fast. Which one should I go for?
