Looking for some advice -
This MSI I7 5050 is severely reduced at my local Walmart. I've been in the process of collecting the parts needed to build my fiancée and I both a rig.
I already have an Alienware x17 R1 (RTX 3080, i9-11980HK, 32GB DDR4), by no means top of the line anymore, but still a great laptop. She has nothing at the moment, but is always using mine when I'm not on it and has wanted a gaming PC for a long time.
I have the budget to spend around 2k-3k each (possibly more for her, I've been 50/50 on if I should upgrade mine yet), but I walked by this laptop, and it made me second guess everything. The specs are by no means great, but it does seem like a great deal for what they are, and could maybe hold us over until (if) RAM prices come back down.
Thoughts? Or is this laptop a trap?
