I'm in zone 6 in MA, the photo is taken towards the north (area is shaded by the house in the morning but gets a good amount of sun in the afternoon. I cleared some nasty thorny hedges out of area adjacent to the fence last year and would like to put some flowering plants in, but I'm a beginner and have no idea where to start!
