Hi I would like everyone to be brutally honest with me what are my chances at a DO school:

CANADIAN APPLICANT

Undergrad GPA (molecular biology and biochemistry with honours): 3.0gpa (150credits) upward trend, deans list last two semesters

Masters THESIS based GPA (molecular biology and biochemistry): 4.0 GPA (12 credits graded)

Thesis: HIV vaccine immunology and neutralizing abs

1 manuscript submitted, 4 abstracts published, 4 local conference presentations, 2 national presentations, 1 international poster presentation; 2 travel awards won; 2x first place local presentation winner

Total research hours: ~6,500 hours

MCAT: tbd not super hopeful but I’m trying my best!

Scholarships won: 8 for undergrad; 1 for masters

Ec’s:

Volunteering at family doctors office since 2019-current ~5,000 hours

Head volunteer at Afghan refugee centre since 2014-2023 (closed down) ~8,000 hours

Volunteering in emergency room since 2025-current ~300 hours

Executive of my university’s Muslim association 2019-current ~1,500 hours

Vice president and secretary of departments grad caucus 2024-current (created and hosted 2 local conferences) ~416 hours

Lab mentor: 2024-current ~600 hours

Caretaker for disabled father: 2019-current: 9,100 hours

McDonald’s manager: 2018-2022 ~2,000 hours

Receptionist at massage therapy clinic: 2022-2024 ~2,000 hours

Bookkeeper for trucking company: 2023-current ~2,500 hours

Might have more ec’s I just can’t remember off the top of my head

My PI for masters

Science prof

Lab tech

Community person

Volunteer coordinator for emergency room

Also should I take preVIEW and CAPSER to help my chances?

If my undergrad gpa is low but my grad (thesis based) gpa is a 4.0 how much does that actually help. Given my undergrad gpa is ~ 3.0 (with upward trend)
