Question on Gu, (relatively) high carb fueling, and GI distress post run.

EDIT**** I meant ONE Gu (20-23g carbs) every 25 minutes, in other words about 2 per hour. NOT 2 every 25 minutes. So sorry for this confusion and dumb typo.

Apologies if this topic has been covered, I’m feeling too yucky to do a deeper search.

Today I did a 9 mile mountain run and had 2 Gu gels every 25 minutes ish. I did the same thing on my 7.5 mile Mon rain run one week ago. Last week I felt a little nauseated after my run and after eating. Today I came so close to throwing up a few hours after my run. Is this a matter of adjusting to higher carb intake? Could it be Gu in particular? I had tried to keep up with electrolytes and I refilled 30 minutes after the run with a tailwind recovery drink.

Just wondering what you all think about this. I’m pretty new to this sport and training for something so I’m working on training my gut as well and today feels like planting went horribly wrong.

Any help or advice is welcome. Please be gentle, I’m doing my best to learn and apply an overwhelming amount of knowledge to my workouts.
