I don’t think security software is getting worse — it’s just not enough by itself anymore.

From what I’ve seen, most attacks today don’t really try to bypass antivirus directly. They go around it. Things like phishing, stolen credentials, or even simple misconfigurations are often enough.

Also, a lot of companies have the right tools but don’t set them up properly or don’t monitor them closely. So the issue isn’t always the software, it’s how it’s being used.

Security tools still matter, just as one layer. Without basics like user awareness, MFA, and backups, there are always going to be gaps.

Feels less like the tools are failing, and more like expectations from them are too high.
