Hi everyone,
I applied for the Barclays Miles & More card (USA) and was initially asked for documents. I submitted my ITIN letter, bank statement, and passport, and the card was eventually approved.
Shortly after that, the card got frozen for a security check. Barclays now says they need a US passport or US-issued documents, which I don’t have. This is weird, as for the approval they accepted my foreign passport. On top of that, the hotline told me they won’t close the account while the card is frozen.
That’s especially frustrating because the annual fee has already posted, and I also can’t pay off the balance properly since the online account is locked.
Has anyone dealt with something like this?

1. Is there any way to get Barclays to close the account anyway?
2. Can I pay the balance through Chase bill pay or some other workaround while the Barclays online account is blocked?
3. Any suggestions on how to escalate this?
   Any advice or shared experiences would be really appreciated. I tried HUCA 3 times, same answer.
