I used it for guidance and also for emotional support l. I initially told it that I wanted to start sleep training and do check ins and it wrote out step by step instructions on how I should do this. But ChatGPT also gave another option which was extinction. I told ChatGPT that I tried check-ins before and it only escalated the crying more, so I think that’s the reason why extinction was suggested. Therefore, I went with extinction. It told me what to expect over a week or so, such as crying over an hour on day 1, less crying on the following days, when to actually go in if needed (never needed to unless baby was sick or teething). I used it every night because I was going through guilt and sad that I was doing sleep training and ChatGPT was my emotional support. I still feel guilty/sad, but I’m proud of my baby’s progress. My stepdaughter (13 years old) can even put him down and awake. He still cries for a minute because I believe he has fomo but after that he’ll either play in his crib the sleep or lay down and sleep right away. Has anyone else used ChatGPT for sleep training advice?
