I'm currently renting from a Friend, and did have plans to stay here long term. I am low income and it'sMy Husband, daughter, and I. I have been a sahm since giving birth because I have no family out here in WA state to help with child care and my husband's work barely gives him hours but that was okay because we rent really cheap and have few bills. (I should also note that we are currently on TNAF but we aren't trying to use up all five years but do plan to stay on it for the time being so on the first of the month we receive $800)
I got an illegal 30 day notice 15 days ago because my friend/roommate/landlord got together with a girl who has three children and she ended up moving in because her mom who she was staying with before kicked her out and so now he needs the space since it is only a three bedroom house with the master where he sleeps downstairs and then the two other bedrooms, a very tiny loft space and bathroom upstairs that we rent out from him. For whatever reason they are just not willing to budge and give me more than 30 day either, for unknown reasons.
I know I can always call the police and stand my ground but I really don't want to go with the burning bridges approach to all this since I am incredibly grateful for him letting us rent from him for a very low price and I value our friendship.
Thing is besides one friend offering to let us use his living room there's not really anything else I can really do until September when family said they'd help me out with the Uhal money to move back to my home state of North Carolina where things are cheaper, I'd have a lot more support from family when it come to my daughter and I'll be around my childhood friends again.
I am just completely exhausted from all the stress of this and besides some loose plans I actually have no idea what the next 3.5 months are gonna be like or if I'm going to be able to save enough for my part of getting out of this god awful (but stunningly beautiful) state, I feel so trapped here, I desperately want to just go back home to NC.
Current plan is to get a storage unit (and Uhal to move the stuff) for our furniture so we don't loose it all (though after bills on the first and our TNAF only being $800 I'm not sure where to get the first months storage payment and the moving truck ~$250 total) then take our friends up on their offer to crash on their couch until September, even though with a 2 year old that's going to be such an inconvenience towards them and a hard time for my daughter to understand, and just save up what we need to make our trip to NC.
