I’m Starting to Think Golf Is Mostly Calibration! (Question to better players about Pre-Shot Routine.)

My coach/pro told me he likes the technical side of my setup and swing positions overall. We really only identified one swing thought to carry into the full swing. (I now try and add a toe drag, like Scottie Scheffler, not important to this post).

At this point, it feels less like a “rebuild the swing” problem and more like a calibration and pre-shot routine problem.

What do you guys do in your pre-shot routine that helps consistently calibrate your body and reduce errors/misses?

I’m trying to build something repeatable that gives me the same feel and setup every shot instead of relying on timing or luck. Interested in hearing what actually helped people become more consistent.

Somehow I lost all the power in my swing.

My 9-iron used to carry 155 yards. Now I’m lucky to get 110.

It feels like the entire kinetic chain in my swing collapsed over the winter. I’ve hit 300 balls this year trying to find the breakdown in my hips and sequence… and I still haven’t found it.

Has anyone else had good power and then had it suddenly vanish, what drills did you use to regain a powerful hip movement and get good compression again.
