First of all, I want to do a small disclaimer, as I actually have gotten the Premium Pass as a gift from a friend when STS dropped last year, but I have been playing since GA, so I'm still 95~% F2P
Since I've been made aware of 24h WP I have changed completely the way I play the game. I hoard pack hourglasses throughout a set, and only spend them the day a new set drops. Last set, by doing this and using trade forums I was able to complete all ♦️s and 1⭐️ cards day 1, which started a series of awful luck on 24h WP (only got 2 hits all set), and also allowed me to hoard quite a bit for this one.
And so, I was able to open 60 packs day 1 of PA, and opened a total of 105 packs by yesterday, when I completed the last of the 1⭐️s by buying Riolu with Pack Points.
It's worth mentioning I had awful luck, 3 of my 10 pack opens had only 1 EX or 1 FA card, and the only 2⭐️ card I got in 105 packs was MAudino, but I did get an okay amount of 3♦️ cards, and a few cool shinies.
And so this was done mainly through trades (never with bots), with the 3♦️s and the 1⭐️s as the biggest problems. It is quite easy to find people who will trade you repeats from the new set, but I hardly got any, so I had to aim for people willing to trade the new cards for older ones.
I was halfway through the process when I noticed I had spent way too much time refreshing the trade forums, finding people willing to trade, but the sunken cost fallacy kept me going, as well as the new trade hourglasses you get from completing a type.
If I can give any advice, it's to try and hoard meta-relevant cards when you can, as you'll find a lot of people willing to trade their 1⭐️ shroomish for a 1⭐️ oricorio, or their 3♦️ frapple for a Hydreigon.
Other than that you just have to send trade suggestions to A LOT of people, and hope you find either people who don't care about completing the set (such as competitive players) or new players who would much prefer you traded them one of their favourites that's from an older set (I got to trade away 2 Sylveon EXs).
I do recommend always being nice and courteous to everyone, and having patience with new players. There was this one guy who traded me a 3♦️, and he didn't know how the share feature works, so I explained it to him. After that I started sharing EXs from older sets with him, which made him offer me a 1⭐️ from the new set as soon as he got it.
After this whole ordeal, today I woke up to the 24h WP attached, and with Magnezone being one of my favourite mons, suddenly everything felt worth it.
That being said, I do not recommend doing this, it's much more fun taking your time than spamming people with trade requests for hours.
Anyways, back to opening SR for that eluding golden ball...
TLDR: Gotta trade them all! And I don't think it's worth the effort
