Just something I think is fun to headcannon about. What do you think happened in the original timeline of BO1, where William didn't die and the Nemesis overwhelmed Ottmar's army?
I always thought it was interesting that Moebius intentionally manipulated events to create the second timeline, since even though he gets to run his crusade and almost entirely wipe out the vampires, he still ends up getting beheaded and Kain wins anyway, destroying the pillars and taking over the world for 1000+ years. So what could have possibly happened in the original timeline that was worse than this for Moebius and the elder god?
Is the Nemesis overwhelming Nosgoth really that much worse? Vorador is still alive and vampires are still everywhere in this universe. Elder Kain mourns the loss of his "true destiny" throughout the games, and the Soul Reaver exists in all timelines, so would this have been the timeline where the original vampire prophecy played out just as intended, and Raziel is raised and sent back to become the Spirit Reaver on purpose? Does Kain successfully heal the pillars and return them to the vampires without destroying them?
