I had an interview for a position on Wednesday, and the hiring manager contacted all 3 of my references on Friday.

For those who have been through this before, how long did it usually take to hear back after the reference checks?

Does contacting references generally mean I’m one of the final candidates, or is it still hard to tell? Just trying to get a sense of the typical timeline and not overthink things too much. Thanks!
