My first post got lost in the Megathread. But… here to just say that we arrived in Japan today and the Mudi 7 EU did not disappoint!!! I mentioned that I purchased 2 Mudi 7s - the NA and EU variants. Before departure I purchased a Ubigi 50gb eSIM. So easy. Once purchased I received an email and QR code. Pressed and held that QR code and saved image to iPhone photos. Then in the Mudi web interface I uploaded the QR code from iPhone photos. Once done It failed to connect in USA as expected.
So here we are in Tokyo. Powered up the Mudi and for a minute it would not connect …. held breath … but then suddenly 5G pops up and BAM here we go!!
We are in our hotel after the 14 hour flight jet lagged and ready for a sleep to start this vacation. Using the Mudi in repeater mode + vpn in hotel with my Roku stick using WireGuard back to my Ubiquiti UDM. Watching my local news at home. Success !!! Let me add the wife is very impressed and she can watch her shows.
Will throw the Mudi in the backpack tomorrow and leave it on 5G for our phones to start touring this city. Never been here. Very excited. Vacation is vacation, but I do need to monitor emails and situations back home so it’s good to have connectivity.
