“The world abandoned Jews” is somewhat morally understandable, but historically it is a broad generalization that flattens differences among governments, relief agencies, and individuals. “Countries around the world explicitly favored non-Jewish refugees over Jewish survivors” is partly true for some postwar policies, especially the U.S. DP system, but not universally true of all countries.
