Question about a tomtoc Defender-A42 briefcase for 15.6" HP laptop

I need a laptop briefcase/bag for protecting my laptop during a long flight. I have an HP envy x360, which has dimensions 35,73 × 22,84 × 1,83 cm (14" x 9" x 0.72"). I was thinking of buying a tomtoc Defender-A42 briefcase, because it should fit under the seat in front of me during the flight and I've head really good opinons about it. The problem is that I can't find the right size for my laptop. The only real option is Defender-A42 for 16 inch laptops, which leaves around 0.38" on each side of the laptop, but I'm worrying that the laptop will float in the briefcase during the flight and the screen will crack.
Does anyone here have any recommendations/tips for buying a briefcase for 15.6" laptops and protecting a laptop during a long flight? Maybe someone has used the tomtoc Defender-A42 for a laptop that wasn't a perfect fit and can confirm that it shouldn't be a big issue?
