Hi everyone,

I’m going to start studying IT next year and I’m looking for a good laptop in the €2000–2500 range.

I would prefer a MacBook Pro because I like macOS and build quality, but I’m also open to Windows laptops if they offer better performance for the price.

My main use cases:

programming / studying (IT degree)

multitasking (lots of tabs, coding tools, etc.)

occasional gaming (not hardcore, but I’d like to be able to play modern games on decent settings)

occasional gaming (not hardcore, but I’d like to be able to play modern games on decent settings)

What I care about most:

performance + smooth multitasking

good battery life

reliability/build quality

portability (I’ll carry it to university)

I’m not sure if a MacBook Pro makes sense for me because of gaming limitations, so I’d really appreciate advice on whether I should go Mac or Windows, and any specific model recommendations.

Thanks in advance!
