Been working in accounting for a few years now. Started in audit (3 years), changed to industry (1 year), and now work in advisory (1ish years in public accounting).
I feel like my knowledge of accounting is really siloed in financial services. I’m not enjoying the work I do now. Looking to jump to into other areas to see what peaks my interest. I’ve looked in tax roles, industry, and government. I have my CPA, but feel like I’m lacking experience outside on financial services.
Does anyone have any experiences on switching to something more enjoyable with a better work life balance? Currently working anywhere from 45-55 hours a week.
