I went in the post office to sent some parcels, as I pulled in on my bike, I saw three teenagers loitering outside and eyeing me. As I was locking my bike, they approached me, and one of them got in my face saying repeatedly "give us your bike", with the two others in the back saying "something something (that seems to mean me) is activated" which I interpreted as that they delight in seeing me disturbed. At first I ignored them, but then the teenager actually took hold of the handles of my bike, at which point I exploded in fury, swore at them and they ran away like proper cowards. They still hovered in the distance for a while laughing while I stared them down.

Now this wouldn't be attempted robbery yet but I was still very disturbed, my heart was beating very fast and I was getting light headed because for a moment there I wasn't sure just how threatening they were being and if they would really resort to violence to rob me. Although we were outside a post office, just off the mainstreet, there wasn't anyone around at the time either.

I am a small young east asian woman who work in retail and meet these teenagers at work quite often, and had my odd encounters being shouted at on a bike, but what just happened is really the next level to me.

Would these teenagers escalate their behaviour and start actually committing robberies when they get older? Who the fuck knows.

edit: will report to police
