Lately I’ve been thinking about how much of our “fun” is actually real, and how much of it is just… performed.
Like, we go out, take pictures, post stories, laugh louder than we feel, and somehow it all looks better than it actually is. Even when we are doing something that should be enjoyable such as traveling, hanging out, eating at nice places.it sometimes feels like we are following a script instead of actually living it.
Same goes for attraction to. it feels like it’s becoming more about aesthetics and validation than genuine connection. Like we’re drawn to what looks good or what others approve of, rather than what actually resonates with us.
I’m not saying everything is fake. There are definitely real moments. But it feels like they’re getting buried under layers of expectations, comparisons, and performance.
Does anyone else feel this? Or am I just overthinking it?
