I’ve been an avid urbexer for a good few years now, and I’ve always had the thought of air quality in the back of my mind. I’ve never been too worried about it, seeing as I always carry face masks on me & if a spot is particularly nasty, I’ve got gas masks that I can use myself and can share with my friends. However, gas masks can’t protect against everything, namely carbon monoxide or carbon dioxide poisoning, or just lack of oxygen in general.

This has become particularly worrisome due to a mine system I’ve been exploring lately, where some areas have fantastic airflow while others may not. So far, I haven’t had any issues thanks to the map I’ve got which specifies exits, so I know which areas I’m certain to have good airflow, but certain areas are unmapped or don’t have nearby entrances.

Having said that, can anybody recommend any brands or models of air quality monitors, that way I can be extra sure that I’m not cluelessly walking into a potentially fatal situation? Thanks!
