A quick question please.
A colleague of mine with AOR March 17 got an email from IRCC for bank statement verification. He said he almost missed it as it was in his spam for a few days. He was asked to visit the bank to get a sort of code which he now had to send to IRCC in order for them to have direct access to his bank statement. On the other hand, a student visa applicant said that IRCC directly contacted the bank who now gave IRCC the required code to view the applicant's bank statement without the applicant's knowledge. I didn't know this was possible.
I know that they would usually send an email to the bank and ask the bank to verify the authenticity of the bank statement and if it emmanated from the bank. Been arguing with them that its a breach and they can only view if given permission like the first case above.
I don't know how true this is.
