4 day luteal phase?

I stopped birth control in January to start ttc after being on for 10-15 years skipping placebo week and never getting a period on it (d/t severely painful periods) I have been tracking with inito for 2 months. I never had confirmed ovulation last month and got my peak cd 23 and started my period night of cd 28…so about a 4 day gap (pdg never got higher than 1.7). From what I’ve researched this seems to suggest I didn’t actually ovulate. This month I had a peak on cd 24, was excited to see my pdg go up to 2.88 on cd 27 and bbt rising as well. Thinking I’d for sure ovulated but still waiting for pdg to rise more. This morning cd 28 (usually last day of my cycle) my levels have dropped and I’m feeling really discouraged. I also have some mild cramping and keep feeling like af is starting but hasn’t yet. Am I out? Is a 4 day luteal phase even possible?

This is my second cycle using inito. My cycles have been wonky since getting off the pill in January. But was excited to get an LH rise this month on cd 13 when previous cycles have been day 23-24. I haven’t seen pdg rise and it’s been low overall…wondering if this ovulation wasn’t completed. I know only time will tell but just wondering if anyone has any insight or similar experience.
